ABOUT US
Studio.Art.Lab is a Montréal-based creative education initiative dedicated to making the arts accessible to all ages and abilities. Rooted in textile traditions, craft practices, and hands-on making, the studio offers workshops, classes, and creative experiences that bring people together through the act of creating.
Our programs serve youth, adults, and seniors through studio courses, mobile workshops, and thoughtfully designed art kits that can travel into schools, community spaces, and senior living facilities. Whether someone is threading a needle for the first time or deepening an existing practice,

Founded by costume and fashion designer and educator Elisabetta Polito, the studio grows from over fifteen years of experience in arts education and professional design. The vision is simple: to build a welcoming third space where creativity strengthens confidence, community, and resilience.

At Studio.Art.Lab, creativity is not reserved for a select few.
It is a shared human instinct.
We believe that everyone deserves access to spaces where they can create, explore, and develop confidence through making. Art should not be limited by age, background, experience, or financial barriers.
Our goal is to build an environment where people feel welcomed, supported, and inspired to engage with the creative process.
Studio.Art.Lab is designed as a third space -a place beyond home and work where community can gather through creativity. In this space, youth, adults, and seniors work side by side, learning from one another and sharing knowledge across generations.
Through workshops, mobile programming, and creative kits, we work to remove barriers to arts education and create opportunities for people to experience the power of making something with their own hands.
Inclusive and Equitable Programs
Studio.Art.Lab is deeply committed to creating inclusive and equitable learning environments where individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and learning styles can access meaningful creative education.
Our organization was founded on the belief that creativity and craftsmanship should be accessible to everyone, regardless of economic background, academic ability, age, or personal circumstance.
Our programs are intentionally designed to support diverse learners, youth, adults, and seniors, including individuals who may not always thrive in traditional academic environments. Through hands-on textile arts, sewing, and craft-based practices, we create safe, welcoming spaces that encourage experimentation, self-expression, and confidence-building.
Creative making also supports mental well-being, mindfulness, and social connection, which are especially important for participants who may experience isolation, anxiety, or barriers to participation in other settings.

Intergenerational Learning

Studio.Art.Lab intentionally brings together youth, adults, and seniors to share space and creative experiences.
